What we should always bear in mind is that the nose structure partly determines the initial shape and dimensions which can be changed during the surgery. Too radical reduction of the nasal structure is not recommended because it can weaken the fundamental support of the nose. An important effect on the result of the operation is the strength and thickness of the skin and soft tissue cover, which also limits the extent to which the nose can be changed. Although the skin cover is not changed after the surgery, skin still must cover pre-formed cartilage, because excessive reduction of cartilage and bone may prove inadequate adaptation of the skin. This can be a problem with people who has very thick and oily skin.<\/p>
